QUICK RED EYE FIX
Here is a photo of my granddaughter which I snapped whilst on holiday outside at night. Unfortunately the red eye reduction was not set on my flash. Her pupils are totally red because of the darkness outside, and the flash. Her pupils were totally dilated and this was the result. Lets fix it!!

Open the file you want to fix. Go to the View Menu and Zoom. Zoom until the eyes are large enough to work with. (The may look a little pixelated with such magnification but that's OK)From the Toolbox select Eliptical Marqee - see screenshot 2 below:

Drag the eliptical tool across the eye from the edge of the blue to make sure you have selected all the red pupil - if not you will end up with some unwanted red pixels. Now you will need to feather a little so go to your options bar (mine is at the bottom of workspace) - see Screenshot 2a below.

Where it says feather on the options bar type 1 px into the text area.
Then go to the Image menu>Adjustments>Hue/Saturation. See screenshot 3 below:

When the Hue and Saturation dialogue box opens go to the drop down menu at the top left and select Red (we don't want to do anything to other color channels but red) See screenshot 4 below:

After you have selected the Red Channel then go to screenshot 5

You can see the eye that was worked on is no longer red and there is a nice catchlight still left in the pupil. All you have to do now is to drag your selection marquee over to the other eye and follow the same procedure.

Don't forget to make a note of the settings you made for the first eye in Saturation and in the Lightness - you will need to do the other eye pretty much with the same settings.

Note: Web site is in the process of being re-designed - due to the fact that Vista users cannot read Java Applets without add-ons for browsers.

Sorry for any inconvenience - will all be fixed soon! :-)
